As part of the Chinese New Year celebrations, on Monday, Year 2 enjoyed a special ‘Chinese Day’.
It was wonderful to see so many children dressed in traditional Chinese attire today. We had a fun packed day of learning. The day started with the children learning a number of basic Chinese greetings followed by a video outlining how children live in China. We also learnt how to write our name and how to count to ten in Mandarin.
Later that morning, the class split into groups with some making Chinese decorations and completing our amazing Chinese Dragon!
Later in the afternoon, the children helped to create a magnificent Chinese banquet consisting of some delicious treats such as Spring Rolls, Stir Fried Noodles and Egg Fried Rise. As you can see below, they all did an amazing job and the food was absolutely delicious!
We took some pictures of the day, which can be seen in the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view.
