This week in the EYFS Classroom, we are celebrating Book Week. We have been reading the book “Journey” by Aaron Becker. Journey is a children’s wordless picture book written and illustrated by Aaron Becker. The book was published in 2013 and was selected as a Caldecott Honor Book in 2014.

In the Classroom:

In the story, the little girl travels on a magic carpet. We made our own magic carpets by weaving paper strips across a template. We thought about our favourite books, drew a picture and wrote a sentence about why we liked the book.

As we have been busy reading books this week, we thought it was important to make book marks, so we knew where to continue reading our favourite book from. We set up a voting booth with a selection of the most popular books in the classroom and asked children to vote for their personal favourites and post their vote into our postbox. I wonder which book will be the most popular?
