As the weather was not favourable last week, our planned Great Fire of London reenactment took place this morning.
Our Year 1 spectators were very excited to watch our representation of how the Great Fire of 1666 in the heart of London. The Great Fire of London was a major conflagration that occurred in central London from Sunday 2 September to Wednesday 5 September 1666, gutting the medieval City of London inside the old Roman city wall, while also extending past the wall to the west.
We shot a video of the fire, which will be coming very soon so do look out for that. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the lovely stills that we managed to grab of the great fire action taking place. The strong wind really encouraged the fire to spread so as you can imagine, the houses didn’t take long before they were literally a wall of fire.
