On Tuesday 22nd of March, Year 5 and Year 6 took part in The Easter Experience at Reigate Park Church.
The Easter Experience is an interactive re-telling of the Easter story presented by Sparkfish, a local, collaborative, Christian organisation. In this re-telling of the Easter story, children enjoyed moving around the auditorium watching the events of Holy Week unfold at different locations.
The children were completely immersed in the experience and were given the opportunity to take part in the story by waving palm leaves and becoming the crowd when Pontius Pilate asks the public to decide who should be crucified –Jesus or Barabbas.
At the end of the Easter Experience children were able to ask questions about Holy Week to the actors who remained in character throughout. The children were transfixed throughout and this experience served to further complement their RE lessons at school.
Thank you Sparkfish for providing these wonderful opportunities for our children!
