In English this week, the children have continued to explore our current text for this half term, “FArTHER” by Grahame Baker Smith.

The children have planned a sequel to this story using a story mountain to aid them in the development of their narrative structure. We then moved on to writing their opening and build up paragraphs in which they included the use of fronted adverbial and expanded noun phrases. Next week, they will continue writing their story before editing it and writing it up in neat.

After Christmas, we will be using the story ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ by C.S Lewis as our text in English. It is really lovely for the children to be able to read the story from their own copy so if you are able to source a book for you child it would be greatly appreciated as we have a limited number in school.
