A visit from Animal Magic
Last Friday, Reception class were in for a real treat as they had a visit from Animal Magic, a mobile zoo. Chris from Animal Magic brought a variety of animals with him to visit including, a Bearded Dragon, Giant Millipedes, Cockroaches, a Parrot, an Armadillo, an Owl, a Tortoise, Rabbits, and Guinea Pigs. We had lots of fun learning about the animals, feeding them, petting them and even holding them. You can view the gallery by clicking here.
Year 2 Library visit
On Thursday 12th March, our Year 2 children set off on a wonderful adventure to visit the newly refurbished library in Redhill. The children set off by train from Nutfield Station to Redhill and were greeted at the Library by Anna and Tina, The Redhill Librarians. After the initial introductions, everyone shared a story followed by a grand tour of this beautiful, fully stocked oasis of books and reading material.
Children whose parents enrolled them at the library were given their library cards, which they were really excited about and everybody is looking forward to getting back to the library to enjoy more great reading time. A huge thank you to our tour guides for graciously giving up their time to show us around and read with us. We are all very grateful.
Great Fire of London Gallery
Our planned Great Fire of London re-enactment took place last Friday. Our Year 1 spectators were very excited to watch our representation of the Great Fire of London 1666. The Great Fire of London was a major conflagration that occurred in central London from Sunday 2 September to Wednesday 5 September 1666, gutting the medieval City of London inside the old Roman city wall, while also extending past the wall to the west.
We shot a video of the fire, which will be coming very soon to our website. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the lovely stills that we managed to grab of the great fire action taking place. The strong wind really encouraged the fire to spread so as you can imagine, the houses didn’t take long before they were literally a wall of fire.
See the gallery here.

Headteacher’s Comment
As we continue through the season of Lent, it is a meaningful time to reflect on the sacrifices and commitments we make for personal growth and self-discipline. I have personally chosen to give up chocolate and have been quite proud of resisting the temptations, even in the staffroom! I hope that many of you are also finding success in your own Lenten journeys, whether through giving up something or taking on a positive habit. These small acts of perseverance and self-control remind us of the strength and resilience we nurture not only in ourselves but also in our children as we support their learning and development.
I want to extend my thanks to all of you for your continued support and partnership with Nutfield Church C of E Primary School. Your involvement plays a vital role in enriching our pupils’ learning experiences and strengthening our school community.
A special thank you goes to the parents who have kindly volunteered in classrooms during our themed activities, such as the art projects, and those who have supported children on trips. These opportunities bring our curriculum to life and deepen the children’s engagement and understanding.
I would also like to express particular gratitude to the parents who generously drove our children to the foodbank. This trip was especially pertinent to our school value of community, and without your help, the trip would have been cancelled. Your support in making these experiences possible is truly appreciated.
Thank you also to the parents who have donated stationery and resources from our Amazon Wishlist. These contributions provide essential support that helps our children thrive academically.
Our recent Class Worships have been a wonderful showcase of the great learning and progress happening across the school. It is inspiring to see our pupils confidently sharing their achievements and enthusiasm for learning.
Year Six pupils have now been allocated their secondary schools. While I am pleased for those who received their firstchoice placements, I understand some families may feel disappointed with their outcomes. Please do not hesitate to contact the school office if we can assist you in any way moving forward.
As always, I will be on the school gate and warmly welcome you to speak to me about any questions or concerns. Remember, learning is a partnership, and as the saying goes,
“It takes a village to raise a child.”
Thank you for your continued support in helping us foster these values both in school and at home.
