Year 3 had a great time with Mrs Taylor-Kublik, producing mixed media pictures in the style of Russian – born Wassily Kandinsky.
Wassily Kandinsky (1866–1944) was a Russian painter considered a pioneer of abstract art, who also worked as an art theorist and teacher. After a successful career in law, he began studying art in Munich at age 30 and became known for his use of color and form to express spiritual and emotional states, famously comparing art to music.
He founded the Blue Rider (Der Blaue Reiter) Expressionist group and later taught at the Bauhaus before settling in France. Kandinsky’s paintings are known for their vibrant colours, dynamic shapes and expressive lines.
The children are very proud of their work, which can be seen in the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view.
Well done Year 3!
