This week, Year 2 began a new book ‘The Bear and A Piano’ by David Litchfield. It is a beautiful tale of fame and friendship. The children have used the text so far to make predictions, and to write sentences about the story using conjunctions.
They learnt about contracted verbs – can’t and won’t and modal verbs – would, should and could that show possibility – to write a letter to Bear advising him on whether he should leave his friends in the forest for fame and fortune in the city.
