This week Year 1 have been learning how the Great Fire of London was put out and what tools were used. The Great Fire of London was a devastating fire that burned for five days in 1666, destroying more than 13,000 buildings and leaving almost 85% of the city’s population homeless.
We have been amazed by all of the houses brought in by the children (see the gallery below). They have made a beautiful Stuart town. Today we had a visit from the Fire Brigade to teach us about old and new ways of putting out fires. We spent the afternoon outside with four firefighters and the fire engine and had a wonderful time. You can also see a collection of dramatic images of our burning town plus a video. We hope that you enjoy our video and pictures.
