This morning to start a new week, Reception class set off on a brisk early morning jaunt across the Nutfield Church Primary School fields to track down a hidden bear.
This fun Bear Hunt was in preparation for the forthcoming book that we will be reading this week; “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” by Michael Wayne Rosen.
This classic children’s tale is about a family that decide to go looking for a bear, and declare – ‘we are not scared’, but they then face a series of obstacles, including a river, a snowstorm, and a muddy swamp. Suddenly they do seem a little more scared. At each point, the family realise that they cannot avoid the obstacles, but must ‘go through’ them.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the surprise Bear Hunt, which you can see in the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view. I’m sure that they will be excited about reading this great title now that they have experienced their own Bear Hunt!
