This week we have been learning about time. This is a very challenging unit of work.
We have learnt about:
- roman numerals
- Digital time
- AM and PM
- Telling the time to 5 minutes and then 1 minute
- Days, weeks and months of the year
Please take opportunities with your child to read the time. They should know on the hour, half past and quarter past and quarter to. Practising the passing of time would also be helpful, such as, it is now 12.15 so what time would be in an hour and a half.

Please use Times Tables Rock Stars to help improve your child’s understanding and knowledge of these. We recommend a few 10 minute sessions a week to practise.
It is a fun and interactive way to improve number fluency and the MTC takes place at the end of Year 4! We still have a weekly trophy to win. Sadly many children are not using it at all. Please can you encourage your child to practise on the weekend.
