Well done to Year 6 who were away on their annual residential last week. The residential forms part of our longer-term commitment to our Outdoor Learning provision.
The trip was organised and led by our teachers and support staff; Mrs Cordey, Miss Best, Mrs Fine and Mrs Ross. We are blessed to have so many committed staff who give up their time with their own families to support the children so well. Thank you to everyone who went along, a great time was had by all. The children were wonderful throughout.
During their week away, the children engaged in activities such as kayaking, raft building, archery, orienteering, night walks, camp fires and team building activities. They approached each task with enthusiasm, determination and resilience. I was particularly pleased to hear the children’s experiences when they returned. Here are a few quotes from the children.
“I really enjoyed the dock jump at TYM. I also really liked the low ropes because we had to work together and you had to go back to get a friend which was really fun. At High Ashurst, we did mountain biking and we got to go out on the road and some people even learnt how to ride a bike.”

“I loved how all the instructors were really inspiring and how they wanted you to try new things.”

“The thing I loved the most about the residential is the high ropes and the cabins! It was definitely the highlight as well as the paddle boarding and tents at TYM! The food there was brilliant!”
