This year’s National Children’s Health Week, run by the Place2Be Charity, took place during the 3rd – 7th February 2025.
The theme this year was ‘Know Yourself, Grow Yourself’. This was in conjunction with the Inside Out movies where each of the characters are called different emotions. During Collective Worship time on Monday, Ms. Boon introduced the week to the school. We spoke about the difference between Physical Health and Mental Health and the importance of looking after and maintaining both of these every day.
This year’s theme asked us to think about the things that we might find difficult or hard and to be able to recognise when we may need to do something to help us feel and think better. The more we know about ourselves and how we react to different situations, the better we will be in being able to deal with our feelings and emotions.
In Tuesday’s Collective Worship, Mrs. Brooks reminded us of the main emotions that are explored in the Inside Out movies such as Sadness, Joy, Anger, Fear and Disgust. We learnt that even Jesus experienced many of these emotions in the a lot of bible stories that we know.
Throughout the week we learnt that sometimes it is ok not to be ok! We learnt that there are lots of different things that we can do to help ourselves, and others, when we need some help and that talking to someone we trust is important. We also learnt that there are a lot of people in school and within our family and local communities who are there to help us when we need it.
Our aim at Nutfield Church is to make sure that the wellbeing of all the pupils, staff and wider community is our top priority and that our school is a place where everyone can be themselves and feel supported. We want everyone to Feel Good and Function Well!
