This week we are learning all about Australia. The activities in our enhanced provision all have an Australian theme.
- In EAD we have been making our own boomerangs and rainmakers. We have decorated them using both traditional aboriginal symbols and aboriginal dot art.
- We have been making Echidnas ( spiny anteaters) using playdoh and sticks.
- We have been learning about traditional aboriginal symbols and learning to draw them in sand, and also with chalk and water.
- We have been learning all about animals native to Australia and tried to match the animal to the correct footprint.
- In our independent writing activity this week, children were given a picture of a beach and asked to write what they could see.
- We used coat hangers and clothes pegs to help us solve addition sentences.
- The children used tweezers to extract the correct amount of sea creatures from the water.
