This week we are continuing with our book ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch.’ Our enhanced provision activities have continued to be based around this story.
In the Classroom:
- For RE, the children have been decorating fish. The fish represent the story from the Bible when Jesus helped the disciples fill their nets with when they could not catch fish to eat and sell. The disciples were Jesus’ special friends.
- In Maths we have been reading the story ‘Jack the Builder’ by Stuart J. Murphy. The children have been inspired to build their own cityscapes using different numbers of blocks and counting the blocks they have used.
- We have been retelling the story of ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’ in our tuff tray which has water, rocks, boats and a lighthouse.
Outdoor Learning:
- The children have been making ‘pesky’ seagulls out of paper plates.
- We have been using red, white and yellow squares to make lighthouse patterns.
- We have been building our own lighthouses using red and white unifix blocks
- We have enjoyed painting pictures of lighthouses on the cliffs.
