Thank you to Rev Len who came in to Year 2’s RE lesson on Wednesday to carry out a Teddy Baptism. The children are learning about different Christian ceremonies under the unit heading ‘Why Do Christians Make and Keep Promises Before God?’.
Rev Len put on his cassock, surplus and stole and carried out a Teddy Baptism where he shared the order of service which is used in church. He then showed the children the special anointed oil which is used to mark a cross on the head of the baptised child or adult. He told us about the symbolism of the water that is used which represents the River of Jordan.
The children joined in the words that the congregation repeat in church as part of the service. Finally, he blessed all the teddies and the children.
