On Wednesday 28th June, Year 2 children set off on a wonderful adventure into London to visit the world renowned Tower Bridge. This visit links to our English learning and the book ‘Rosie Revere Engineer’. It is a story about a quiet, young girl who at night designs and makes the most extraordinary inventions.
Our English learning uses Tower Bridge as a ‘hook’ for the story as the children enter a competition to design an opening bridge to cross the Thames. This will follow the class reading ‘A Walk in London’ which will tie in beautifully as they can witness some of the sights of London and its iconic buildings.
We took some pictures of our Year 2 class on their wonderful adventure, which can be seen in the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view.
