On Tuesday 27th June, the crew from ‘Blue Watch’ at Reigate fire station paid a visit to Reception class. During the visit the children learnt that anyone can work for the fire service, firefighters are friendly and like to help people, fire is hot and 999 is the emergency number.
Children also learnt the ‘stop, drop and roll’ technique to put out flames if their clothes were to ever catch fire. During the visit the children learnt key safety messages, looked around the fire engine and learnt how to use a fire hose. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and many were inspired to work for the fire service themselves.
