With Summer upon us, what better way to spend the day than in the company of Sand and Sea! Today our Reception children have been examining the wonderful things that inhabit our beaches and coasts.
Some of their activities today include making Coral. They have been making their own adaptation of Coral using pasta and play dough, plus also creating colourful coral scenes using multi-coloured maize noodles.
The tuff tray transformed into a beautiful bay filled with plant, sealife and colourful shells and coral reefs. We also saw our artistic seaside lovers creating some beautiful pieces of art using paint and cotton wool buds to create some familiar seaside scenes and objects you would find on a beach.
Some of the children were learning about sharing by dividing pencils equally into different coloured pots. They were also sharing animals equally between a selection of fields in the outdoor learning area.
We took some pictures of our coastal explorers, which can be seen in the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view.
