This term Year 4 set off for their three-day adventure to High Ashurst. Although the forecast promised rain we were surprisingly lucky.
The very first obstacle the children tackled was the climbing wall. An obstacle that attacked with real gusto and a surprising number were able to scale the wall to the very top. Following the climbing wall and a hasty lunch, we were off again. This time to try the teambuilding course. This tested the children’s leadership skills and their ability to listen carefully to instructions.
Day two saw us take on orienteering and archery in the morning before the much anticipated high ropes! All of the Children, without exception went out of their comfort zone during this exercise. Each and every one pushed themselves to try and go further, or go higher. It was a joy to watch them!
During the morning of day three we tackled more team building tasks which included blindfolds, an assault course and more orienteering. To finish of the whole experience, we were led deeper into the woods to create amazing dens and starting camp fires to keep warm.
The children should feel incredibly proud of themselves. They conducted themselves commendably while we were at High Ashurst and really pushed themselves outside of their comfort zones. Thank you to all our instructors from High Ashurst who were absolutely brilliant across all three days!
