The Nutfield Gardening Society has invited Nutfield Church School to take part in their annual ‘Potato Competition.’
Mrs Heelis from the Nutfield Gardening Society, provided the school with a potato for each year group, which we planted in Trinity Gardens on Friday 7th May. The potatoes will be nurtured until September, then dug up and the yield from the potato weighed. The person who has managed to produce the highest yield will win the cup and will also receive a book token.
In the past the yields have been quite amazing and weights over 9Kg have been recorded! The potatoes will be on display at the autumn show on the 17 September in the village hall when the winners will be announced. We are very excited to be taking part in this competition and can’t wait to see what we produce!
