On Wednesday the 4th May Revd. Len visited Year 2 to talk about Baptism as part of their RE unit on Belonging.
Children were invited to bring in a teddy from home, which Revd Len would then ‘baptise.’ During the lesson, the children created christening gowns and a christening candle for their teddies. They thought carefully about which Christian symbols to draw on their gowns and candles, these included symbols of baptism such as crosses, the font, water and light.
Revd. Len talked through each stage of a Baptism with the children, and at certain points acted this out on the children’s teddies. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about baptism – thank you Revd Len for such a memorable RE lesson.
