As part of their RE unit on Remembrance, Bob Evans, chairman of the Nutfield History group, came into school on Wednesday 10th November to talk to Year 6 about Remembrance Day and how the men and women of Nutfield contributed to the war effort.
Mr Evans brought a photo of the cenotaph and the children re-enacted the laying of a poppy wreath in front of it, as the Queen would during the National Service of Remembrance on Remembrance Sunday. Mr Evans also brought a photo of the grave of unknown warrior and photos of Nutfield village during the war.
The children were highly engaged throughout Mr Evans’ talk and asked many thoughtful and pertinent questions. Thank you Mr Evans!
