On Friday 13th May the Year 1 children stepped back in time for their Victorian Day. They thoroughly enjoy this memorable Victorian experience linked to their History topic and participated with great enthusiasm.
Activities included coming to school dressed as a Victorian, being given a Victorian name, drills, handwriting on blackboards using chalk, arithmetic, hand inspections, playing traditional playground games, learning songs off by heart, making peg dolls and Jack in the boxes. The classroom was arranged in the old Victorian way in traditional rows.
We took some pictures on the day, which can be seen in the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view.
