Nutfield Church, Limpsfield CofE Infant School and St. Peter’s CofE Infant School
On the 18th of January 2023 the KS1 Faith Team at Nutfield Church Primary School spent the day at St. Peter’s C of E Infant School alongside the Faith Team from Limpsfield Chart C of E Infant School.
The day started with a tour of the school looking for clues of their Christian distinctiveness. The children found lots of evidence from crosses, pieces of art work, Bibles, candles and prayers. The children were then each given a mirror to look at their reflection and asked to draw a picture of what they saw. They were then asked to draw a picture of the person sitting next to them. The children then used the two pictures to identify similarities and differences between themselves and we talked about the idea of us all being unique and how that it something to be celebrated. After lunch, we created a vase of ‘hand’ flowers.
The children drew around their hands three times and cut out each hand. On each hand they wrote something that made them special and unique. The hands were stuck to pipe cleaners and then added to three cardboard vases. These vases were then given to each school to display.
The KS1 Faith Team were made to feel really welcome and we are looking forward to inviting St. Peter’s C of E Faith Team and Limpsfield Chart Faith Team back in March.
